This is a great gadget. With the multi change vibrations many different behaviors could be shaped. When I first got my deaf dog, I tried to get a company to make a vabrating collar with different types of vibration sequence and nobody was willing to go to that expense. This is just perfect. I have used a simple vibration collar to get a recall while my deaf dog is off leash and it worked like a charm. I would recommend anyone that has a deaf dog to get this collar and use it to teach come, drop on recall, and many other exercises. The only down side is it is not waterproof. It is sure a step in the right direction for training a deaf dog.

This works pretty well on my dog. The first few days it was very effective, she would stop what she was doing and spin in a circle looking for the cause of the buzzing as if to say "what the heck just happened!?". As time went by though she was less alarmed by it, so if she's very intent on doing something the buzzing may not stop her. We still keep it on her for times when we need to distract her from chasing the cat though, and it's useful for when she's outside. We can watch from inside and give her a buzz if she tries to pee on the deck or anything. One thing I was disappointed with was the levels 1-7. It just changes the pattern of the buzzing, not the intensity, so there's really no way to ramp it up if she's ignoring it. Overall though for the price I think it's a worthwhile training tool for anyone reluctant to use a shock collar. Perfect for minor infractions. If you have an aggressive dog though I wouldn't rely on this alone. I'm just using it to calm an unruly puppy, I think a larger more aggressive dog would ignore it completely.
